About the Owner and Founder of
RMA Electronics of Utah
Brian Bassett
When he is not spending time with the business, he enjoys taking the family to our cabin, one in Northern Utah and the other in Southern Utah. He likes to take their toy hauler camping, boating and loves off-road toys, like one of his many 4-wheelers, a raptor 700. Brian and his family have always loved the outdoors growing up, with a house boat on Lake Powell and speed boats for fun.
When Brian was a young boy, he had a passion for audio and video equipment. He started developing his knowledge of electronics and learning how to run a business from his father. At about the age of 5, his father started a computer business called ITM computers. When Brian was about 8 years old, he would help his dad assemble computers for the business and load the software. He watched and learned from his father’s work ethic and his devotion to learning the new technologies.
When Brian was a teenager, he was known as the kid to go to for stereo systems. He spent all of his spare time designing and building subwoofer and stereo systems. He loved to show off his work in a showroom he built in the basement of his family’s house. His mother loved when people would come over to listen to his dual reflex band bass box with a 15” subwoofer. Often, his mother would have company over and he would be showing off his system. She would complain that it sounded like an earthquake hit the house and pictures would fall off the walls.
Brian took his passion for stereo systems and at the age of 16 went to work for a car audio company installing car stereos. His work ethic and willingness to learn earned him the position of store manager at the young age of 18. He continued his career in Management, going on to bigger and better things over the years while building up his knowledge of the electronic business and developing great customer service skills.
After 15 years in the business and building up a family of 5 children, he decided that he would take his knowledge of electronics and business management skills and open RMA Electronics.
